Historic Door Recreation: A Gorgeous Dry Fit
Look at this incredible progress on the Swansonville Church! Our team has successfully dry-fit the beautiful new double doors for the main entry.
This is a special moment in our restoration. These are not just any doors—they are handcrafted replicas of the original doors that were discovered rotting beneath the church building years ago. We are eternally grateful to the person who had the foresight to save those originals, as they provided the crucial blueprint for this faithful recreation.
As you can see, they already compliment the historic entry perfectly, honoring the 1904 architecture. While we still have finishing work to do—fine-tuning the fit, hardware, and final finishes—this dry fit marks a huge leap forward. It brings us one step closer to securing the building and restoring its authentic character.
Seeing these doors in place makes the future of this community landmark feel wonderfully tangible. Every detail we preserve helps tell the story of the families who built this place.
