A Historical Awning Completes Our New Entry!
We are thrilled to share a beautiful milestone in the Swansonville Church restoration: our new awning is finished!
This isn't just any awning. We designed it to honor the building's original 1904 character. The underside features cedar shingles and open framing, reflecting the historic construction methods used when our church was first built from local mill scraps. This detail ensures the new addition feels like it has always been a part of our landmark.
Function meets history, as the structure is securely reinforced to the building, providing essential protection for our newly installed, historically recreated oak entry doors. It’s a practical step in preservation that also enhances the church's charm.
We hope everyone who drives by enjoys the new view and sees this progress as a sign of our ongoing commitment to saving this special place for the community.
